Two hundred days ago, I stood at a crossroads: harboring a passion for civil society work, hands-on field experience, and great ambition, yet my digital presence on professional platforms was virtually nonexistent. I was invisible, unsure of how to create an impact that would extend beyond the borders of my village and local projects.

The journey began with the Rising Roots Morocco Program, which proved to be more than just a training initiative—it became a gateway through which experience transformed into influence, ideas translated into tangible actions, and individual initiative expanded into a network of opportunities. Here, I learned that success is measured not only by metrics but by the trust you earn, the values you promote, and the opportunities you create for others.

Transitioning from a state of digital isolation to building a network of 2,000 professional partners, I discovered the power of institutional networking and realized that true impact begins when you become a conduit for value and knowledge, connecting local projects to global challenges.

This journey has shaped my new professional identity: an individual capable of bridging entrepreneurship, sustainable agriculture, water resource protection, volunteering, youth empowerment, and cultural heritage promotion—such as the traditional Tbourida equestrian displays. All of this is now supported by a robust digital vision that amplifies both expertise and mission to their fullest reach.

At every moment of this journey, I have felt that what I plant today—whether a tree in a schoolyard or a developmental project in the mountains—will grow tomorrow, not merely as a tangible outcome but as a narrative documenting the power of initiative, the depth of commitment, and the ability to turn passion into real, sustainable impact.

Thus, each dimension of my experience begins not as a simple list of activities, but as a living story filled with challenges, achievements, and lessons that have shaped my journey in the Rising Roots Morocco Program—a story I now share with the world.

Entrepreneurship: Turning an Idea into Tangible Impact

When I began my journey with the Rising Roots Morocco Program, I possessed great ambition but lacked a clear plan to transform that ambition into a meaningful reality. For me, entrepreneurship was never just a project or an idea; it was a mindset and a skill set for navigating daily challenges.

The first lesson I learned was that every problem carries an opportunity within it. Through intensive training, I learned how to identify the genuine needs of rural communities and how even a small project can make a significant difference if carefully planned. I acquired tools in marketing, feasibility studies, and market analysis—but more importantly, I learned how to connect these tools to real-world fieldwork.

Throughout the journey, I began applying what I learned directly to practical projects, whether supporting cooperatives or guiding farmers on improving agricultural production, especially in olive cultivation and sustainable farming. Discussing a project was no longer a theoretical exercise; it became a compelling narrative grounded in a clear vision and tangible results.

A pivotal moment occurred when I presented my first entrepreneurial project at the Demo Day. At that moment, I realized I was no longer just a trainee absorbing knowledge—I had become an active participant capable of persuading potential partners and transforming simple ideas into implementable projects.

Over time, I came to understand that the true value of my journey lies not only in what I have gained but also in what I can pass on to others. I began designing training sessions inspired by my experience, aimed at cooperatives and associations, particularly in rural areas, to equip youth and women with practical tools to develop their projects and achieve economic sustainability.

Today, entrepreneurship for me is more than an idea or a project—it is a continuous learning journey, a social responsibility, and a means to empower others. Every new project I launch carries a singular message: organized passion and realistic planning can create genuine, lasting change in the community.

Sustainable Agriculture and Water Resource Protection: From Personal Passion to Community Initiative

My journey into the world of agriculture did not begin in a laboratory or at a conference, but on the ground, with soil-stained hands. I often recall childhood memories in the schoolyard of Oulad Imran, where we planted our first tree together. At the time, I did not know that those tiny seeds would mark the beginning of a lifelong passion for the environment and sustainable farming.

As the years passed and I pursued higher education, I began to understand the depth of the challenges farmers face, particularly in managing water resources in regions such as the Al Haouz Province and central Morocco. I noticed the decline in water resources and its impact on agricultural production, especially amid climate change and limited awareness of modern farming methods.

Joining the Rising Roots Morocco Program provided me with a tangible platform to apply this vision. The program offered more than theoretical training; it opened doors to hands-on fieldwork, where I learned sustainable farming techniques, drip irrigation, and natural resource protection. My journey began with a visit to a nursery in Tamslouht, where I learned about the stages of olive production and how simple techniques can enhance yields while respecting both the environment and water resources.

One of the most personally impactful experiences was preparing a farm with modern irrigation systems as part of the Morocco–Germany Youth Network exchange program. This experience was not just about installing pipes and pumps; it was a living lesson in water conservation and the transition from traditional agriculture to sustainable practices without harming the environment. Every drop of water saved conveyed a strong message: natural resources are not merely a means of livelihood, but a shared responsibility.

I also participated in tree-planting campaigns across the Marrakech-Safi region, planting over 2,000 seedlings, each with its own story: some from the Akrich nursery, others from Tadamamt, and others from the peaks of the Atlas Mountains. Each tree symbolized sustainability, collective action, and the impact we can make on the land.

Through these experiences, it became clear to me that sustainable agriculture is not just a technique, but a culture and a mindset. It teaches us how to plan, act wisely, and preserve our resources for future generations. These experiences also strengthened my ability to share knowledge with others—from young farmers to fellow trainees in the program—and to demonstrate how everyone can actively protect the environment through daily practices.

Today, standing amidst these lands and projects, I feel that every small step, every planted tree, and every improved irrigation system is part of a larger story of community empowerment and natural resource protection. For me, sustainable agriculture is no longer just a professional project; it is a life mission and a tool to transform society from within—step by step, drop by drop.

Volunteering and Youth Empowerment: From Individual Participation to Collective Impact

For me, volunteering has never been just a side activity; it has been a key to understanding the community and rebuilding trust in oneself and others. I have always believed that real change begins with the individual, but it requires a network of minds and hearts to expand its impact.

I started this journey with simple initiatives in school and my local environment, participating in clean-up campaigns, organizing school events, and visiting rural cooperatives. These small moments taught me an important lesson: giving does not always require vast resources, but rather a genuine willingness to work for others.

Joining the Rising Roots Morocco Program allowed me to discover the depth of volunteering and its tangible effect on youth empowerment. Volunteering became more than an ethical duty; it became a strategic tool for building skills and leadership. Through the program, I learned how to guide, organize, and inspire a team of fellow trainees, creating spaces for real learning that combine theoretical knowledge with field experience.

One of the most impactful moments was participating in the planning and implementation of environmental and agricultural projects. Together as a team, we prepared farms, planted trees, and organized training workshops for rural youth. Here, young participants learned not only how to farm or protect the environment, but also how to manage time, make decisions, and solve problems collectively.

A memorable experience was visiting women’s cooperatives and agricultural projects, where I witnessed firsthand how proper support and guidance can transform ideas into successful initiatives, and how youth can drive change when someone believes in their potential. These moments were a true source of inspiration, showing me that volunteering is not only about giving to others but also about empowering them to become active contributors in their communities.

The beauty of this experience was that volunteering became a bridge between generations: trainees from different cities and educational backgrounds worked side by side with local actors, creating a network of small initiatives that together produced a significant impact. I learned that effective leadership does not mean control, but rather empowering others to utilize their abilities in an organized and purposeful way.

Today, I view volunteering as a tool to help youth discover themselves, develop their skills, and build confidence. Every hour of volunteering, every small project, and every training workshop is an opportunity to shape the leaders of tomorrow. This conviction has become part of my identity and a message I share with everyone I meet on professional, environmental, and social development journeys.

Digital Engagement and Experience Exchange: From “Zero” to a Global Network of Impact

When I began my journey with Rising Roots Morocco, I had virtually no digital presence on professional platforms. I possessed real field experience in civil society work, sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, and youth empowerment—but my digital footprint was zero, as if I had rich experience without a window to share it with the world.

Faced with this reality, I decided to transform this “digital zero” into an opportunity, making the digital space a natural extension of my fieldwork rather than a replacement for it. This marked the beginning of a real transformation: I was no longer just an actor on the ground, but also a voice reflecting this experience and projecting it to a broader space.

My digital platform became a bridge between expertise and opportunity

In less than 200 days, I built a network of over 2,000 professional partners and engaged followers on LinkedIn—a figure that reflects not just quantitative growth, but a qualitative shift in my professional presence.

I transformed from someone seeking information to someone sharing knowledge, from a passive follower to an active contributor creating digital value within the civil society sector.

Numbers Speak: Impact Beyond the Screen

This digital transformation went beyond account statistics and manifested in real reach and engagement:

Over 46,206 views on Facebook, with a 24% growth in audience in the last month.

Over 35,900 views on Instagram, with meaningful interactions reflecting audience interest in purposeful content during the last month.

These numbers were never the goal in themselves; they were indicators that the message I carry resonates with a wide audience seeking meaningful and impactful content.

The Digital Space as a Platform for International Exchange

Thanks to this digital presence, real opportunities opened up for communication and exchange with international actors and programs, including:

High Atlas Foundation: Which provided a practical framework combining training, fieldwork, and exposure to international experiences in sustainable agriculture and environmental work.

Rising Roots Morocco: Which was more than a training program—it became a space for young people from diverse backgrounds to meet, united by a shared goal of creating real impact in their communities.

International exchange experiences with youth from Europe and Asia, where I had the opportunity to interact with participants from multiple countries, exchanging perspectives on development, environment, and entrepreneurship, broadening my vision and understanding of shared global challenges.

From the Field to the World… A Story Told Digitally

Every field experience I engage in—from tree planting campaigns, working with cooperatives, to interacting with rural communities—becomes digital content carrying a story, a message, and value.

I no longer just share what I do; I focus on transforming the experience into transferable knowledge and a source of inspiration for other youth seeking the start of their own journey.

Digital Trust: The Real Capital

Today, I realize that the true value of a digital presence lies not in the number of followers, but in the number of people who trust your message.

Every interaction, comment, and message I receive from a young person or civil society actor is proof that this journey is no longer individual—it has become part of a larger network of shared impact.

Fantasia Shows (Tbourida) – When Identity Becomes a Global Message

My presentation on Tbourida was never just a cultural demonstration; it was a pivotal moment in my journey, where identity met communication, tradition met confidence, and local heritage met international openness.

Initially, I viewed Tbourida as part of our collective memory—a craft tied to seasons and celebrations, carrying the spirit of horsemanship and belonging. But within the Rising Roots Morocco Program, I began to discover that this heritage is not just a past to preserve; it is a language we can use to speak to the world.

From Traditional Knowledge to a Professional Narrative

The real transformation was not in my knowledge of Tbourida, but in my ability to present it professionally and convincingly to a diverse audience.

I learned to turn this art from a mere traditional description into a comprehensive performance that highlights:

Historical context

Cultural significance

Values of horsemanship and discipline

The symbolic role of horses in Moroccan culture

For me, the presentation became more than information; it became a story told with feeling and belonging.

The Moment of Truth: From Hesitation to Confidence

One of the most powerful moments in this experience was presenting Tbourida to a high-level delegation, led by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi from the United Arab Emirates.

This moment was far from ordinary...

I faced a new experience, an international audience, and the responsibility of conveying a cultural image representing my country. The challenge was not in reciting the facts, but in self-confidence.

What happened next was a true transformation:

I overcame the initial hesitation and began speaking not just with my mind, but with my full identity. I felt that I was not simply giving a presentation, but representing the story of a community, a history, and a collective memory.

Tbourida as a Bridge Between Cultures

What I realized through this experience is that local heritage can be a powerful tool for international communication.

When presented well, Tbourida does not just explain a traditional art form; it opens a window to:

Morocco’s history

Its deep connection to the land and horsemanship

Collective values of courage and discipline

This is what allowed the presentation to capture the attention and engagement of an audience that previously knew little about this art form.

From Recipient to Cultural Ambassador

Before this experience, I considered myself merely a recipient of this heritage, just a part of it.

Afterward, I began to see myself as a cultural ambassador, capable of bringing this heritage into new spaces in a modern way that everyone can understand.

This experience taught me that the power of youth does not lie only in learning, but in re-presenting what we have in a way that makes the world listen.

Identity as a Soft Power for Impact

In a fast-changing world, technology and modernity may seem like the only ways to make an impact, but my experience proved otherwise.

Sometimes, the strongest message you can deliver is to remain true to your identity.

Tbourida was not just a performance—it was a moment of profound awareness that my cultural roots are not an obstacle, but a source of strength and distinction.

Entrepreneurship – From a Vague Idea to a Realizable Vision

When I joined the Rising Roots Morocco Program, I was not lacking in ambition; on the contrary, I carried a strong desire to make a real difference in my community, especially in rural areas.

However, the real challenge was not the “desire” itself, but the lack of a clear vision: How could a simple idea be transformed into an organized project? How could one move from a dream to execution?

The Moment of Realization: Entrepreneurship is Not Just an Idea, but a Way of Thinking

The first deep transformation I experienced on this journey was understanding that entrepreneurship is not limited to launching a project; it is a methodology for thinking and engaging with reality.

I learned to view the daily challenges faced by farmers or rural women not as obstacles, but as opportunities that could be turned into innovative solutions.

I began asking myself key questions:

What value can I provide?

Who are the real beneficiaries?

How can this project be sustainable, rather than just a starting point?

Acquiring the Tools: From Spontaneity to Professionalism

Through the training I received, I began acquiring practical tools that fundamentally changed the way I work, including:

Market research: Understanding the needs of the target group rather than assuming them.

Feasibility studies: Assessing the project’s viability and sustainability.

Strategic marketing (the 4 Ps): Integrating product, price, place, and promotion effectively.

Business model development: Turning an idea into a clear and actionable structure.

These tools were not just theoretical concepts; I applied them directly in my projects and in supporting the cooperatives and associations I work with.

From an Individual Project to a Collective Vision

One of the most important transformations I experienced was shifting from thinking about “my project” to thinking about projects with collective impact.

I started working on ideas related to:

The economic empowerment of women in rural areas.

Valorizing local products.

Creating sustainable income-generating activities.

The goal was no longer individual success, but creating opportunities for others and contributing to improving living conditions.

From Learner to Mentor

Over time, I no longer saw myself merely as a recipient of training; I gradually became an actor seeking to transfer this knowledge.

I began designing training courses for cooperatives and associations, especially in rural areas, with the goal of:

Simplifying entrepreneurship concepts.

Providing practical, actionable tools.

Supporting local actors in developing their projects.

This transformation from “learner” to “knowledge contributor” became one of the most significant outcomes of this journey.

Trusting Failure as Part of Success

One of the key lessons I learned is that failure is no longer something to fear.

It has become a natural stage in the learning process.

I now believe that every experience, whether successful or not, adds a deeper understanding and brings me closer to building a strong and sustainable project.

Entrepreneurship as a Tool for Social Change

Today, I no longer see entrepreneurship merely as a means to earn income; it is a powerful tool for social impact.

It is a tool through which one can:

Create job opportunities.

Support vulnerable groups.

Contribute to local development.

Sustainable Agriculture and Water Conservation – From Awareness to Action

My relationship with agriculture and the environment was not accidental; it is the result of a long journey that began years ago, as I closely observed the transformations occurring in rural areas, particularly concerning water scarcity and the depletion of natural resources.

At that stage, I possessed a gradually forming theoretical awareness, especially during my academic journey, where I worked on water-related issues and wrote about the challenges of water resource management. Yet, despite this accumulated knowledge, I felt clearly inside: Knowledge alone is not enough… protecting the environment requires returning to the field.

The Turning Point: From Writing to Practice

Joining the Rising Roots Morocco Program was the real turning point.

Here, I no longer limited myself to analyzing problems; I became part of the solution.

In the field, among nurseries and agricultural farms, I started experiencing a different perspective:

Learning sustainable farming techniques and understanding soil and plant needs.

Recognizing the deep relationship between water, farmers, and sustainability.

Seeing agriculture not merely as an economic activity, but as an integrated system balancing humans and nature.

Tree Planting: A Simple Act with Deep Impact

Among the most notable activities I participated in were tree-planting campaigns, where we planted over 2,000 saplings in the Marrakech-Safi region.

Planting a tree may seem like a simple act, but it carries profound significance:

An investment in the future.

A contribution to soil protection.

Support for ecological balance.

Each sapling we planted represented a practical step toward change and proof that fieldwork is the foundation of any real transformation.

Water: From a Study Topic to a Personal Cause

If agriculture represents the land, water is its soul.

Over time, water conservation became more than just an interest; it became a personal commitment.

Through my experience, I realized that the biggest challenge facing rural areas is not just production, but the sustainability of water resources.

Drip Irrigation Experience: Solutions in the Details

During an international exchange with the Morocco–Germany Youth Network Program, I participated in equipping a farm in the Al Haouz Province with a drip irrigation system.

This experience was a living example of what simple solutions can achieve when applied smartly:

Reducing water consumption.

Increasing crop yields.

Supporting farmers in facing climate change.

Here, I realized that protecting water does not always require complex solutions; rather, it requires awareness + technology + determination.

Sustainable Agriculture as a Strategic Choice

Through this journey, I came to believe that sustainable agriculture is not a luxury, but a necessity.

It is the only way to ensure:

Continuity of production.

Protection of natural resources.

Improved living conditions for farmers.

It also provides a genuine gateway to balanced rural development, considering both humans and the environment simultaneously.

From Volunteer to Environmental Actor

Over time, my participation in environmental activities became more than volunteering; it became part of my identity.

I began contributing to:

Guiding visitors in farms and nurseries.

Explaining various agricultural practices.

Sharing the experience with others, especially youth.

Every plant on the farm, every field experience, carried a story… A story of human connection to the land and the pursuit to protect it.

The Key Lesson: The Environment is Protected Through Action, Not Slogans

What I learned from this experience can be summarized in a simple idea: Protecting the environment does not start in classrooms, but in the field. It starts by planting a tree, changing irrigation methods, spreading awareness, and engaging in collective action.

International Exchange, Volunteering, and Youth Empowerment – From Local Experience to Global Belonging

My engagement in the Rising Roots Morocco Program was not just an opportunity to learn; it was a real gateway to opening up to the world.

For the first time, I found myself in a space bringing together young people from diverse backgrounds, with multiple cultures, yet united by a single goal: creating a real impact in their communities.

International Exchange: Expanding the Horizon

Through my participation in exchange experiences, especially with the Morocco–Germany Youth Network Program, I no longer viewed environmental or development issues solely from a local perspective; I began seeing them within a shared global context.

Interacting with youth from different countries made me realize that:

The challenges we face are not isolated.

Solutions can be shared.

Cultural differences are not obstacles, but sources of enrichment.

Every discussion and joint activity opened new horizons for me and made me rethink my approach and vision for the future.

Volunteering: From a Simple Act to a Deep Human Experience

In this journey, volunteering was not just a side activity; it was the heart of the experience.

Working alongside volunteers from around the world in High Atlas Foundation activities allowed me to experience a different kind of humanity:

Daily cultural exchange.

Teamwork based on shared values.

A sense of belonging to a group with a common vision.

In tree-planting campaigns, field activities, and daily interactions, I witnessed how a simple act could bring people from different continents together around a single goal.

Working with Youth: From a Group to a Community

One of the most impactful experiences for me was interacting with the 23 trainees from different regions of Morocco within the program.

We were not just participants in a training; we were:

A team learning together.

A space for exchanging experiences.

A small community reflecting Morocco’s diversity.

Each of us carried a different story, yet we shared the same ambition: to make a real difference.

Youth Empowerment: From Beneficiary to Responsibility

Over time, I no longer saw myself merely as a young person benefiting from these opportunities; I began to feel a greater responsibility: How can I transfer what I’ve learned to other youth?

This question marked a turning point in my journey.

I started thinking about:

Mentoring youth in rural areas.

Simplifying the knowledge I had acquired.

Creating new opportunities for learning and participation.

I realized that true empowerment does not only mean learning; it means being capable of empowering others.

From Individual Experience to Collective Message

What began as a personal journey gradually turned into a broader message.

I no longer saw myself merely as an individual on this path, but as part of a network of young people working toward the same goal.

This sense of belonging gave this experience its true meaning.

The Deepest Lesson: The World is Closer Than We Think

Through this experience, I realized that the world is no longer as distant as we thought.

Thanks to exchange, volunteering, and collaborative work, any young person can be part of a global dynamic without losing connection to their roots.

Amidst the many opportunities available to me, for the first time in my life, I started writing all my daily programs in a notebook.

The goal was simple yet profound: never miss any training opportunity, national or international, that accompanies my activity within the Rising Roots Morocco Program.

This habit made me feel in control of my time, allowed me to make the most of every moment effectively, and taught me that organization is not just a skill but a true gateway to success and global openness.

From Roots to Impact… A Journey That Has Only Just Begun

When I look back on this journey today, I realize that what I experienced was not just a series of activities or training sessions—it was a complete path that reshaped my vision of myself and my place in this world.

The beginning was not digital, and the transformation was not measured in numbers… Everything started with a genuine human experience: a tree planted in a schoolyard, a simple idea, a desire to understand, and a deep sense of responsibility toward the earth and humanity.

Then came the experiences, the opportunities multiplied, and the circles expanded… From fieldwork in sustainable agriculture to engaging in water resource protection, from volunteering to international exchange, from learning to transferring knowledge, and from local engagement to global openness.

As for the digital space, it was only a natural extension of this journey… A window that brought this experience to a wider audience, transforming it from an individual story into a shared message embraced by thousands of followers and participants.

Today, as I look at a network of over 2,000 professional partners and thousands of interactions across multiple platforms, I understand that the true value does not lie in the numbers but in the trust built, the relationships formed, and the impact that has begun to grow.

I have learned from this journey that:

Change does not require a perfect start; it requires a sincere first step.

Strong roots can grow even in the toughest conditions.

When youth are given the opportunity, they can transform from receivers to doers, and from doers to impact-makers.

And perhaps the most important lesson… The world does not expect us to be perfect; it expects us to be real, committed, and willing to learn and keep going.

My journey is still at its beginning… But what has changed is that I no longer just look for opportunities; I now work to create them and share them with others.

And herein lies the true meaning of all that came before: Start with ourselves… Grow with others… And leave a lasting impact.
