One of the most positive outcomes of the work of the High Atlas Foundation and its partners in Morocco and around the world is the fact that we enabled the purchase and installation of more than 60 kilometers of water pipes with rural communities to achieve their critical goal of access to clean drinking water. Across the 25 years of the work of HAF in Morocco, clean drinking water has always been and remains the number one priority of the people.

At this end of the year, help us purchase more water pipes, support the building of water basins, enable the purchase of solar water pump systems, and create a transformative outcome together. Of course, this profoundly, more than anything else, decreases the occurrence of waterborne diseases and infant mortality rates and, as much as any other measure, increases girls' participation in education because they no longer have to fetch water daily kilometers away.

Your gift will enable HAF to purchase now and engage with rural communities at this time for their own installing of pipes and water systems that so significantly enhances their well-being.

March Program Update 16

The communities determine the projects of HAF; they implement the initiatives, they maintain them and evaluate them over time and are the drivers of sustainable development. Water infrastructure is a locally designed initiative that is identified during the empowerment and participatory planning workshops facilitated by HAF. We commit to those initiatives determined by the people in, yes, clean drinking water, but also fruit tree agriculture, family literacy, culture preservation, and other initiatives prioritised by the community participants who are primarily women.
