Morocco, like many nations, faces the challenges of climate change and the need for sustainable development. To tackle these issues, the High Atlas Foundation (HAF) has taken a significant step towards a greener future.

On January 15th, the National Tree Planting Day was celebrated by planting diverse fruit trees in the green space of Marrakech's Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences. This initiative showcases the commitment to environmental conservation and contributes to Morocco's broader sustainable development goals.

Planting trees plays a critical role in sustainable development. Trees act as natural carbon sinks, absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. This process helps mitigate the impacts of climate change by reducing greenhouse gas concentrations. Moreover, trees help prevent soil erosion, conserve water, and maintain biodiversity, important components of sustainable development.

The inclusion of green space within the faculty premises enhances its aesthetics while providing a tangible example of the positive impact that tree planting can have on the local environment.

The HAF-Community initiative extends far beyond the location of the faculty.
