GITEX Africa, Morocco 2025: Showcasing Innovation that Serves, Connects, and Transforms
GITEX Africa 2025 in Marrakech was a powerful celebration of technology, innovation, and inclusion across the continent. The event, which lasted from the 14th of April to the 16th of April, brought together global and African visionaries, startups, investors, public institutions, and development actors in an energizing space where ideas met action.
Notable moments included a powerful opening led by visionary African leaders. Football legends Robert Pires, Raphaël Varene, and Bafetimbi Gomis lit up the floor, meeting game-changing startups. The startup ecosystem was alive with solutions that serve communities, empower smallholders, and reimagine inclusive development.
Startups showed how innovation can serve communities directly and solve real-life problems. Among the featured innovations, Tookeez, a Moroccan startup, introduced a simple yet powerful way to engage and reward. Through a digital, blockchain-based platform, Tookeez offers universal and secure incentives to strengthen relationships between businesses, employers, and partners.
Colibghiti, another Moroccan startup, is making waves in the social impact space. Their tech-driven, circular economy platform helps reduce food waste by redistributing surplus food—a powerful contribution to food security and sustainability.
From Benin, Biolifetech offers smallholder farmers the tools to access global markets and collaborate with international partners, helping scale rural impact through innovation and connectivity.
We also witnessed the rise of deeptech innovations led by African women entrepreneurs, creating transformative health, education, and agriculture solutions and shaping a more inclusive tech future.
The participation of territorial collectives alongside these entrepreneurs sparked meaningful conversations around co-construction and participatory development, opening up new paths for collaboration and local action.
Other startups are also making their mark: Klit.ma, A&T Experts, Afri Mobility, Colis.ma, Weego.
Gear9 and LMPS Group signed a strategic partnership focused on integrating cybersecurity from the design phase of digital transformation projects. This collaboration between two leading Moroccan tech companies marks a key step toward more secure and future-ready innovation.
