Buy a Moroccan Market Basket to Celebrate Earth Day!
Celebrate this Earth Day (Tuesday, April 22nd) by purchasing a Moroccan market basket through HAF’s newest partner Jeanne Beatrice Market Baskets. Laura Benson started the company as a way to promote an environmentally-friendly alternative to paper and plastic grocery bags. Each year in the United States alone 14 million trees are required to produce paper grocery bags and one hundred billion plastic bags are thrown away.
The baskets are woven in the Atlas Mountains and made out of renewable resources like water leaves and palm leaves. Through this partnership HAF will receive a portion of the proceeds from the company’s sales to re-invest back in community development projects in rural Morocco. When you purchase one of these beautiful baskets you will be rewarded with double karma – you are doing something good for Earth and supporting HAF’s work with rural Moroccan communities.
