We are very glad to take this opportunity to update you on High Atlas Foundation activities that serve Morocco’s rural communities.
First, the Board of Directors disbursed the funds raised at last September’s fundraising reception to support six community projects (three of them assisted by Peace Corps Volunteers), and they include:
We are also happy to announce that this month (in partnership with Royal Air Maroc) we sent 100 kilograms of school supplies for elementary students in rural areas. The students of Smithtown High School on Long Island donated the supplies and HAF Advisory Board member, Catherine Mesrour, who is the librarian at the school, coordinated the drive. We are also in the process of launching a medical supply drive, which will be dispensed in Morocco by volunteer physicians that serve remote villages.
