Ramadan is the name of the ninth month of the Muslim Lunar calendar. This calendar is based on the lunar cycle, therefore the beginning of each month is determined by the observation of the first crescent moon. Ramadan, like the other Lunar-Year months, can be either 29 or 30 days depending on the moon cycle.
Every year, the Muslims worldwide celebrate these 29 or 30 days of the month of Ramadan. Socially and historically speaking, Ramadan is the holiest month which marks the beginning of the revelation of the holy Koran made to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him). Fasting throughout Ramadan is also one of the five pillars of Islam religion in addition to faith, prayer, almsgiving and pilgrimage. Ramadan is an extended occasion for a spiritual exercise designed to bring the Muslims closer to Allah (God) through contemplation, humility and reverence to Allah. Ramadan is a precious opportunity for compassion and mercy, for forgiveness and cooperation, for brotherhood and love between people.
The High Atlas Foundation takes this great wonderful occasion to say : Happy RAMADAN with plenty of peace, contentment and blessings for all Muslims of the world.
May this Ramadan be full of prosperity, good deeds and love.
RAMADAN MUBARAK SAÏD!
