The High Atlas Foundation (HAF) seeks Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) who served in Morocco to return for assignments of two weeks or longer to assist Moroccan cooperatives in their fields of expertise.

The assignments are within the framework of the USAID-funded Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) Program. Volunteers do not need to be farmers in order to serve. Cooperatives and civil society organizations need support and guidance in a variety of areas of expertise, such as accounting and marketing.

What is the Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) Program?

The USAID-funded John Ogonowski and Doug Bereuter Farmer-to-Farmer Program provides technical assistance to farmers, farm groups, agribusinesses and other agriculture sector institutions in developing and transitional countries to promote sustainable improvements in food security and agricultural processing, production, and marketing. The main goal of the program is to generate sustainable, broad-based economic growth in the agricultural sector through voluntary technical assistance. A secondary goal is to increase the U.S. public’s understanding of international development issues and programs and international understanding of the U.S. and U.S. development programs.

The main objectives of the program are to:

  1. Increase agricultural sector productivity and profitability;
  2. Improve conservation and sustainable use of environmental and natural resources;
  3. Expand agricultural sector access to financial services; and
  4. Strengthen agricultural sector institutions.

More information about the program can be found here.

Who Can Serve?

Volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and have a wide range of professional experience, from farming to accounting to marketing, but they all enjoy sharing their skills by teaching others. Most are mid- to senior-level in their careers, and we also have many retired volunteers. Volunteers are intended to be experts in their represented fields. Fluency in a language other than English or travel experience outside the U.S. is not required.

We are seeking RPCVs who served in Morocco and feel they can contribute to the country’s development by mentoring and guiding its cooperatives, children’s centers, and schools. We work in three regions of Morocco: Marrakech-Safi, Beni Mellal-Khenifra and Oujda regions.

The program covers the cost of flights, accommodation, insurance, and ground transportation to fulfill an assignment. A small per diem may also be offered to cover meals.

How Can I Apply?

Volunteer applications can be filled out here. If your skills match with an open assignment, you will be contacted directly by HAF. You can also send us an email at
